What to know about the Iran war today:

- The U.S. military launched a second night of strikes against Iranian targets late Wednesday, saying it was retaliating against Iran for attacking commercial ships earlier this week. U.S. Central Command said it struck about 90 targets inside Iran during the second round of strikes, including missile and drone storage sites and air defense systems.

- Tehran then said it targeted U.S. bases in Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar as the two nations' seeming tit for tat continued.

- President Trump had hinted at more strikes during a NATO summit earlier in the day. When asked about the ceasefire with Iran, he said that "as far as I'm concerned, it's over." He also said he's not sure he wants to make a deal with the Iranians, called Iran's leaders "sick," and declared it "a waste of time dealing with them."

Amnesty International urges probing Israeli attacks in Lebanon as "war crimes"

Amnesty International on Thursday accused Israel of wiping out families in its strikes on Lebanon during its war with Iran-backed Hezbollah and called for the attacks to be investigated as war crimes.

Hezbollah drew Lebanon into the Middle East war on March 2 by launching rockets at Israel in support of Iran.

Israel responded with major airstrikes and a ground invasion, killing more than 4,300 people according to Lebanese authorities, including more than 250 children.

Amnesty analyzed three strikes on civilian homes between March 6 and 13 in which 24 civilians were killed, 12 of them children.

The London-based rights group accused Israel of "wiping out families" in those strikes and called for them to be treated as "war crimes."

The group said it reached out to Israeli authorities, who said some of the attacks "were carried out against Hezbollah military objectives" while others were "referred for examination."

The authorities told Amnesty they were "committed to mitigating harm to civilians during operational activity."

"Despite follow up, the Israeli military did not provide specific information regarding the three attacks... including what the targets may have been," Amnesty added.

Its findings in the investigation were based on interviews with 15 people, including survivors, relatives, paramedics, journalists who visited attack sites and local officials.

U.S. strikes killed at least 14, Iranian official says

U.S. airstrikes in Iran over the last two days have killed at least 14 people and wounded another 78, Iran's Health Ministry said Thursday.

Hossein Kermanpour, a Health Ministry spokesperson, offered the toll on social media

They were the first overall casualty figures from the strikes issued by the Iranian government.

In Iran's southwestern Khuzestan province, at least three people were killed Thursday, state media reported. In Iranshahr, authorities said a strike also had killed a firefighter at an airport.

Those fatalities followed at least nine members of Iran's armed forces being killed in Wednesday's strikes in Iran. It wasn't clear when the other fatality happened and who was killed.

Iran hits back after fresh U.S. strikes

Tehran responded to the latest U.S. strikes by targeting Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar in crossfire that again threatened an interim deal intended to help end the war in the Persian Gulf.

Thursday's attacks appeared bigger all around than the prior day's, with sirens sounding at least twice in Bahrain, home to the U.S. Navy's 5th Fleet headquarters.

There was no immediate word of damage in the three Gulf Arab countries. Kuwait's military said it was actively intercepting incoming drones and missiles. Iran's Revolutionary Guard claimed attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait.
