The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on November 7, 2024, that a scheduled water service disruption would begin at 11:30 p.m. on Friday, November 8, in eastern St. Thomas because of low water levels in the Donoe Tank caused by a failed pump motor at the Donoe Pumping Station.

WAPA said the outage would affect Smith Bay, Nazareth, and Anna's Retreat, including New Tutu and Tutu Valley. It said other East End areas, including Bovoni, Nadir, and Marienthal, could also experience interruptions as water inventory levels declined.

The authority said crews were working to repair the pump motor and expected repairs to be completed by Sunday, November 10, 2024. It said St. John was not expected to be affected.
