The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on Dec. 10, 2025, that it was asking St. Croix customers to conserve water as it worked to complete final repairs and stabilize islandwide service.

WAPA said many households, particularly on the west end and in higher elevations, had experienced low pressure or no water since Dec. 7, 2025.

The authority said power had been restored to Seven Seas Water Group and full production was expected later on Dec. 10. It asked customers to reduce non-essential water use, conserve water and, if possible, use cistern water for non-potable needs.

WAPA also asked customers not to fill cisterns or large containers with potable water, saying that keeping water in the system would help build pressure and move water to customers still without service, especially in western St. Croix.

The authority said it had installed a temporary generator at the Richmond water facility, energized the Seven Seas Water Group reverse-osmosis plant and restored service to two of three critical pump stations. It said crews were monitoring pump stations, building system pressure to bring the final pump station online, assessing storage-tank inventory and limiting standpipe operations to mornings only during the recovery effort.
