Reinholdt Jackson Sports Complex reopened in Estate Whim after $1.1 million restoration
Government House said Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. joined Sports, Parks and Recreation Acting Commissioner Vincent Roberts, Office of Disaster Recovery Director Adrienne Williams Octalien, and Kaj Reinholdt "Rookie" Jackson and his family on April 11, 2025, to reopen the Reinholdt Jackson Sports Complex in Estate Whim, Frederiksted.
The reopening followed completion of a $1.1 million project to restore the complex after damage from the 2017 hurricanes. Government House said the work was funded with federal disaster-recovery money.
According to the administration, the project included improved lighting, upgraded dugouts and restored fencing around the baseball field, along with a resurfaced basketball court, resurfaced tennis courts and a new playground.
Government House said the reopening also marked the start of the Dennis Brow 12U Invitational Baseball Tournament, held at the complex over the weekend of April 12-13, 2025, with youth teams from the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
