WAPA governing board approved FY2025 budget

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said its governing board approved the utility’s fiscal 2025 budget at a meeting held on October 24, 2024.
WAPA said the budget had first been discussed with the Finance Committee in July and that extensions were granted during the review process under the utility’s new executive director.
At the same meeting, the board approved a time extension for Kami Metals LLC under Contract SC-18-24 and approved updates to the employee handbook.
WAPA said its Finance and Audit Committee also approved an amendment to Arcadis contract terms under SC-11-22, the 2025 employee benefits renewal, an alternative USLD fuel supply item for the Richmond Power Plant, and a contract with Trident Industries under SC-12-23.
The board also discussed personnel and legal matters, but WAPA said no formal action was taken on those items.
