Billie Eilish Broke Her Silence On Rumors That She Fell Out With Her Brother Finneas - BuzzFeed
"Did you guys hear Billie and Finneas had a falling out?"
I'm a writer and editor who lives in Brooklyn, New York, and I've written for a variety of publications across the last 20 years, including The New York Times, The Guardian, GQ, New York Magazine, Pitchfork, The Fader—the list goes on.
Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas (sometimes styled FINNEAS, jsyk) are basically one of the decade's powerhouse pop songwriting teams. They've racked up Grammys and Oscars, along with a considerable (and growing!) number of hits.
Apparently there's been some chatter in the air that this sibling-songwriting duo was recently on the outs. I didn't hear anything about it personally — but Billie apparently did, because in a new interview with Elle the pop dynamo addressed the rumors head-on.
“I heard somebody say, ‘Did you guys hear Finneas and Billie had a falling-out?’" Billie said, before very declaratively stating, "Finneas and I have never and will never have a falling-out, ever in our lives."
"We’ll get in the biggest fucking fight you’ve ever heard of in your life…and five minutes later, we’re back, laughing and making music. It’s sibling shit. There’s nothing else in the world like sibling relationships." I hear that!
While addressing the subject, Billie also took a moment to address the possibility of not working on music with Finneas in the future — and her perspective was refreshingly candid and a tad open-ended.
"If I never saw Finneas at all, I might literally never make a song again," she ruminated, before asking, "But how do we move on and have separate lives?”
Such is the quandary that all great creative partnerships have faced! While you ponder your own meanings of life, feel free to read the entire profile right here.
