Public business forum announced as U.S. Virgin Islands hosts Ghana-led delegation on St. Thomas

Government House said on Jan. 22, 2026, that the U.S. Virgin Islands would host a delegation of public- and private-sector representatives from Ghana and West Africa for a public business forum and industry showcase on St. Thomas.

The event was scheduled for Jan. 27, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Westin St. Thomas Beach Resort and Spa. Government House said local entrepreneurs, small businesses, cultural leaders, labor stakeholders, community partners and members of the Legislature were invited to attend.

According to the announcement, the forum was to include discussions, networking and sector-specific engagement tied to areas identified during Gov. Albert Bryan Jr.'s trade mission to Ghana and subsequent stakeholder meetings.

Government House said the delegation was being convened with support from the Government of Ghana, the Ghana Tourism Authority, and participating companies and institutions from West Africa. The Virgin Islands Economic Development Authority and the Virgin Islands Department of Tourism were listed as official partners.

The announcement said discussions would focus on banking and international finance, financial technology and digital payments, technology and government technology, energy, infrastructure and telecommunications, and tourism and destination development.

Government House said the Economic Development Authority would provide information on incentive programs and investment support, while the Department of Tourism would present partnership opportunities. It said agenda and registration details would be shared later through the Office of the Governor, the Economic Development Authority and the Department of Tourism.
