The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on May 7, 2025, that power had been fully restored to all customers following a service interruption on the transmission line serving the St. Thomas-St. John district.

WAPA said crews completed repairs and also performed additional preventive maintenance along the affected line.

The authority said it was advancing plans to install a secondary transmission line as a backup, which it said would allow maintenance on existing infrastructure without interrupting service.
