Bryan nominates Mario Brooks to lead Virgin Islands Police Department
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. announced on Nov. 12, 2024, that he had nominated Acting Police Commissioner Mario Brooks to serve as commissioner of the Virgin Islands Police Department.
The announcement was made during the Government House weekly press briefing.
Government House said Brooks had more than 30 years of service in law enforcement and the military. It said he had risen through the ranks of the police department and had served as commander of the Criminal Intelligence Unit and the Special Response Team.
According to Government House, Brooks also served as a lieutenant colonel in the Virgin Islands National Guard.
Bryan called on members of the 35th Legislature to confirm the nomination.
