The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on August 21, 2024, that power restoration following Tropical Storm Ernesto had reached 99% territorywide.

WAPA said 99% of customers on St. Croix and St. John had service restored, while St. Thomas was at 98%. The authority said crews were addressing remaining isolated outages by clearing vegetation, repairing power lines and replacing transformers.

WAPA said normal operations had resumed on August 20, 2024, and that disconnections resumed on August 21, 2024. The authority said customers still without power would not be affected by the resumption.

On St. Croix, WAPA said water personnel resolved service issues affecting several customers in Christiansted and that water pressure was expected to improve on the evening of August 21, 2024.
