Bryan issued statement on USVI Nike RBI 18U softball team’s World Series opening win
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. issued a statement on August 12, 2025, congratulating the U.S. Virgin Islands Nike RBI 18U Softball Team after its opening-game win in the Nike RBI Softball World Series in Vero Beach, Florida.
Government House said the team qualified for the World Series by winning a regional tournament in June and opened play on August 12 with a victory over the Atlanta Braves Nike RBI team, identified in the statement as the Southeast regional champion.
The games were being played at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach.
Bryan also recognized Head Coach Elroy Hill, assistant coaches Richard Clendenin, Brock Creque and Inocencia Bermudez, and players Dirajah O’Reilly, Jahniya Williams, Alina Muhammad, Alahya Jackson, Tysanne Lake, Mekaela Richardson, Jaimia Cochrane, Allysa Brady, Kleniya Titus, Rashani Sackey, Brielle Creque, Isabella Viruet, Keira Frazier and Ryann Giddens.
Government House said the tournament was scheduled to continue through the week.
