Red and blue teams settle into opening day competition at Griffith Ballpark

As Little League play resumed in St. Thomas on April 23, 2022, the field at Griffith Ballpark shifted from ceremony to matchup. Batters settled in, pitchers worked through opening innings, and catchers crouched behind the plate as young players got back into the rhythm of real competition. The red-and-blue game scenes captured the practical side of the day’s celebration: after the parade, speeches, and guest appearances, youth baseball in the U.S. Virgin Islands was active again on the diamond.
