Bryan authorized administrative leave for April 9 government employee walk

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. authorized 1.5 hours of administrative leave for non-essential Virgin Islands government employees who wanted to participate in the Employee Resource Group Wednesday Walk on April 9, 2025, according to a Government House announcement published April 8, 2025.

The walk, organized by the Virgin Islands Department of Health, was scheduled for April 9 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Eligible employees were to receive leave from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The administrative leave did not apply to essential employees, employees on regular or rotating shifts, or employees on annual or sick leave. Commissioners and agency heads were authorized to grant the leave to eligible employees.
