Bryan marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month and notes October events in the Virgin Islands

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. marked October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month in a statement issued on October 8, 2025, and cited planned awareness activities across the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The statement said Bryan had facilitated funding through the Public Finance Authority for the 2026 Breast and Prostate Cancer Conference.

It also said the St. Thomas Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., in partnership with the Division of Personnel, planned a "Go Pink Day" for government agencies and employees on October 16, 2025.

According to the statement, the Department of Health's Chronic Diseases Division and Maternal and Child Health Division also planned the annual Breast and Prostate Cancer Awareness Walk on St. Thomas on October 17, 2025, and on St. Croix on October 24, 2025.

The statement also recognized the Virgin Islands Cancer Coalition, which it described as a partnership of nonprofit organizations working with the Health Department on early detection and education related to breast and prostate cancer.
