Bryan statement marks Jeth B. Rey’s promotion to lieutenant general in U.S. Army
Government House said in a statement published Jan. 12, 2025, that Virgin Islander Jeth B. Rey had been promoted to lieutenant general in the U.S. Army.
The statement said Rey was the second Virgin Islander in recent history to reach that rank after a 42-year military career. It said he had previously served as director of the Network Cross-Functional Team at Army Futures Command and would assume the role of principal military adviser to the Army chief of staff and chief information officer, overseeing global command, control, communications, cyber operations and networks.
The statement also said Rey assumed responsibility as deputy chief of staff, G-6, within the Army.
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. and Virgin Islands Office of Veterans Affairs Director Patrick Farrell issued congratulatory remarks in the release.
