She surpassed Caitlin Clark and Crystal Robinson, who held the previous record with seven three-pointers made as rookies.

Miles finished with 28 points, seven assists and four rebounds, while Courtney Williams added 17 points and seven boards. Cecilia Zandalasini led Golden State with 18 points.

The Lynx are now 8-2 on the season, while the Valkyries dropped to 6-4.

Miles is taking the WNBA by storm as a rookie. She was named the league's Rookie of the Month in May, averaging 15.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.9 assists per contest.

The Lynx were expected to start a bit more slowly this season, with Napheesa Collier still recovering from last season's ankle injury. But Miles has been a revelation.

"What we've learned now is just really how mature of a player she is at a young age," head coach Cheryl Reeve told reporters on Monday. "Her ability to manipulate defenses. There were audible gasps on our bench, from our coaching staff and our support staff, at some of the passes that she made.... (Her passing) makes everyone else's lives a lot easier."

Miles was the No. 2 overall pick at this year's WNBA draft, so it wasn't a huge stretch to expect that she might quickly establish herself as the Rookie of the Year frontrunner. But she's having an even bigger impact than rookies normally provide and has the Lynx looking like a real threat to win a title this season.
