Bryan issues condolence statement on death of CNMI Gov. Arnold Palacios

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. issued a statement on July 23, 2025, offering condolences following the death of Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Gov. Arnold Indalecio Palacios.

In the statement, Bryan extended sympathy to First Lady Wella Palacios, the governor’s children, grandchildren and extended family, and to the people of the Northern Mariana Islands.

Bryan said he had worked with Palacios on issues affecting U.S. territories and recalled appearing with him in Washington before the Department of the Interior and the White House alongside other territorial governors.

Bryan’s statement said Palacios had served for more than three decades in public office, including as Speaker of the House, President of the Senate, lieutenant governor and governor.
