WAPA held virtual energy fair on Oct. 31

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said it held its first Virtual Energy Fair on Oct. 31, 2025, with more than 100 residents, business owners and community leaders participating online.
According to WAPA, the event focused on renewable energy integration, grid modernization, conservation and workforce development. Participants submitted questions, responded to live polls and took part in trivia games.
WAPA said the program included panel discussions on transitioning to renewable power and battery storage, energy-efficient building design and conservation, emerging energy technologies and partnerships, and career development in the energy sector.
Panelists listed by WAPA included agency employees as well as representatives from the Department of Planning and Natural Resources, Perkins Eastman, MCN Build, the University of the Virgin Islands Research and Technology Park, the Virgin Islands Energy Office, Caribbean Green Technology Center, SIMS Energy Consulting Group, FXB Inc., and Haugland Group.
The Nov. 3, 2025, release said the event marked the close of Energy Awareness Month activities.
