WAPA said road access near Francois Substation would be needed for grid work on September 6
The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on September 4, 2024, that crews and heavy equipment would need access to the roadway leading to the Donald Francois Substation on St. Thomas for utility work.
WAPA said bucket trucks were scheduled to use the roadway on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to install new utility poles, and asked that vehicles parked along the road be moved during that period.
The authority also said similar temporary vehicle relocations would be needed on unspecified dates during September in the Paul M. Pearson community to allow trailers carrying equipment into the substation.
WAPA said the deliveries were part of the Donald Francois Substation FEMA Mitigation Project.
