The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said it held an outreach session for elderly residents at Sunny Isles Housing on St. Croix on July 22, 2025.

WAPA said members of its communications and customer service teams shared updates on electrical-grid projects, including installation of composite poles, undergrounding of power lines and what it described as St. Croix being 51% powered by solar energy.

According to the authority, staff also explained how to read WAPA bills and reviewed customer-support forms, including a medical certificate form for temporary continued service during a medical emergency and an authorization form that allows another person to handle a customer account.

WAPA said the session also included information on the E-CAP program and storm-preparedness tips during hurricane season.
