Bryan says compensation study for Virgin Islands public officials was received ahead of Jan. 1 changes
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. said on January 5, 2025, that he had received the Public Officials Compensation Study Report from the Virgin Islands Public Officials Compensation Commission, and that compensation adjustments for public officials took effect on January 1, 2025, as required by law.
Government House said the report was submitted under Act No. 7878 and Act No. 8384. It said the commission was created by Act No. 7878 and later amended by Act No. 8384 to evaluate and recommend salary adjustments for public officials.
According to Government House, the report was supported by an independent compensation study conducted by the human resources firm Gallagher. The administration said the commission, which was appointed in November 2021, had faced delays related to funding and procurement before delivering the report.
