Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. announced on October 23, 2024, a partnership centered on the Caribbean Americas Single Economy, or CASE, initiative, a public-private effort the administration said was intended to expand regional economic integration and support growth in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Government House said the initiative would be led by Anthony Weeks, identified as the U.S. Virgin Islands special economic envoy and president and managing director of CETI Inc. According to the announcement, CASE is intended to strengthen trade relations, attract foreign and domestic investment, and support the territory’s economy.

The administration also said the partnership included plans to develop a maritime network in the Caribbean linking trade hubs including Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados and St. Croix through passenger and cargo ferry service.

Government House said remarks at the announcement were delivered by Weeks, Raphael D’Angeli, identified as vice chairman of Connect Caribe, and other partners from Connect Caribe and CETI Inc.
