The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority announced that its 2026 open enrollment period for retirees was scheduled for November 9 through November 19, 2025.
WAPA said retirees would have a one-time opportunity during that period to enroll in voluntary life insurance. The authority also said retirees under age 65 would have a 10% cost share for medical and dental coverage for the 2026 plan year.
According to the notice, insurance carriers for retirees were to remain the same unless changes were made. For retirees age 65 and older, benefit elections were to roll over unless changes were made during open enrollment.
WAPA scheduled retiree benefits presentations for November 10, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 13D Research and Strategy Innovation Center at the University of the Virgin Islands on St. Thomas; November 12, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Caribbean Cinemas on St. Croix; and November 13, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in an online meeting.
The authority said retirees had to make any benefit changes during the November 9-19 enrollment period for updates to take effect for 2026.
