Temporary road closures began on Centerline Road for Hannah’s Rest undergrounding project
The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said temporary road closures began on January 5, 2026, along Centerline Road in the Hannah’s Rest area of St. Croix for work tied to the Hannah’s Rest Phase 1 electrical undergrounding project.
WAPA said traffic in both directions was expected to be affected through February 13, 2026, on sections of the roadway between the Walter I.M. Hodge Pavilion and the Caribbean Centers for Boys and Girls of the Virgin Islands in Frederiksted.
The authority said the lane closures were needed so contractor J. Benton Construction could continue installing underground electrical infrastructure.
