Bryan nominated Vincent Roberts as Sports, Parks and Recreation commissioner
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. announced on May 5, 2025, that he had nominated Vincent Roberts to serve as commissioner of the Virgin Islands Department of Sports, Parks and Recreation.
The announcement was made during the weekly Government House briefing on St. Thomas. Government House said Roberts had more than 18 years of service in the department and cited his work on youth programs, recreational improvements, the reopening of the Renholdt Jackson Complex, and upgrades to horse racing and track facilities.
Bryan urged the Legislature to confirm the nomination.
At the briefing, Bryan also invited St. Croix residents to attend the grand reopening of the Vincent Mason Coral Resort in Frederiksted on May 9, 2025.
He said he would be out of the territory during the week of May 5, 2025, to participate in an artificial intelligence panel in New York, and that Lt. Gov. Tregenza Roach would serve as acting governor during his absence.
