Acting governor signed September proclamations for awareness observances and commemorative days

Government House said on August 30, 2024, that Lt. Gov. Tregenza A. Roach, serving as acting governor, signed proclamations recognizing several September observances in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The proclamations designated September 2024 as Attendance Awareness Month, Labor and Management Awareness Month, Ovarian and Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, National Preparedness Month and National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.

They also recognized September 2, 2024, as West Indies Solidarity Day; September 8, 2024, as National Grandparents Day; September 11, 2024, as Patriot Day: A Day of Remembrance; September 28, 2024, as Maroon Commemorative Day; and September 29, 2024, as Gold Star Mothers and Family Day.

Government House said Roach signed the proclamations while Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. was out of the territory attending the Democratic National Convention.
