Bryan submits FY 2026 executive budget to Virgin Islands Legislature
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. submitted the Virgin Islands executive budget for fiscal year 2026 to the 36th Legislature on May 31, 2025, according to Government House.
The administration said the submission met the deadline set by the Virgin Islands Code and the Revised Organic Act and marked the seventh consecutive year the executive budget had been delivered on time.
The proposal called for $936.4 million in General Fund appropriations and a total budget of $1.64 billion across all funds. Government House said projected gross revenues totaled $1.03 billion.
According to the administration, revenue growth was projected in Gross Receipts, Excise, Real Property and Personal Income taxes, while Corporate Income Tax revenue was expected to decline.
Government House said the budget also included stronger tax enforcement, efforts to recover delinquent property taxes, oversight of short-term rentals and other shared-economy sectors, wage increases for government workers, investments in digital systems and transportation, and measures aimed at improving compliance with federal grant requirements.
