WAPA marked Public Power Week and Energy Awareness Month on Oct. 9, 2025

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on Oct. 9, 2025, that it was observing Public Power Week, held from Oct. 5 through Oct. 11, 2025, and Energy Awareness Month.

The agency said the observance recognized WAPA employees, including plant operators, line crews, water technicians and customer service representatives.

The archived release was largely promotional and included a photo caption identifying Roy Freeland, a WAPA certified lineman first class, showing a St. John student safety tools used in electrical work.
