Anthony Thomas appointed chief administrative officer at WAPA

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said Anthony Thomas was appointed chief administrative officer after the WAPA Governing Board approved the appointment at its Nov. 21, 2024, meeting.
WAPA said Thomas would oversee administrative operations including purchasing, inventory control, property management and fleet management.
According to the authority, Thomas previously served on the WAPA Governing Board in 2019 and was re-elected chairman in 2020. WAPA said he also served as commissioner of the Virgin Islands Department of Property and Procurement from 2019 to 2023 and had earlier worked as chief of staff at the Virgin Islands Department of Education and as a district manager at The Akal Group.
WAPA said Don Gregoire, who had served as interim chief administrative officer since January 2022, would return to his position as director of water for St. Croix.
