Government House said Virgin Islands reviewed Justice Department lawsuit

Government House said on Dec. 16, 2025, that it was aware of a complaint filed that day by the U.S. Department of Justice against the Government of the Virgin Islands, the Virgin Islands Police Department and Police Commissioner Mario Brooks in his official capacity.

In a statement issued in response to media inquiries, Government House said the Virgin Islands Department of Justice was reviewing the filing in coordination with the Police Department.

Government House said it took the allegations seriously and would address them through the legal process. It said it would not comment further because the matter was pending litigation.
