WAPA took part in youth finance and STEM events on St. Thomas and St. Croix
The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said it participated in two youth outreach events in November 2025 focused on utility billing, energy education and water infrastructure.
At the Pathway to Purpose Youth Finance Summit held at the University of the Virgin Islands on St. Thomas on Nov. 8, 2025, WAPA said eighth-grade students took part in a household finance role-playing exercise. The authority said its representatives showed students how to read electric meters, interpret utility bills and sign up for the Net Energy Billing program.
At the VI Youth Fun Quest held at Central High School on St. Croix on Nov. 20, 2025, WAPA said fourth- through sixth-grade students took part in a STEAM activity station focused on solar energy and water service. According to the authority, students learned about the Spanish Town, Petronella and Hogensborg solar farms, how solar ovens work, and participated in a simulated leaky-pipe repair exercise meant to demonstrate water system maintenance.
The Nov. 21, 2025, release described the events as part of WAPA's youth education outreach.
