The Champions League returns on Tuesday: build-up and news conferences before action-packed week

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola speaking as his side travel to Austria to face LASK

His side are missing Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai for the trip

Iraola says he trusts Florian Wirtz and Bradley Barcola '100%' despite the two forwards struggling for goals and assists

Earlier, Man City manager Enzo Maresca commented on his side's celebrations in their 3-0 win over Liverpool, asking ' what do you want us to do? '

Written by Craig Nelson, Tasnim Chowdhury, Jemma Rice & Grace Wheeler.

Right, that's it from us.

Andoni Iraola was unable to give a time frame on the return of injured trio Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai, but he says they are "not far off", while he "trusts" Bradley Barcola and Florian Wirtz to deliver "100%" in their absence.

For now, Liverpool will have to fend without Isak, Gakpo and Szoboszlai as they prepare to take on LASK in Austria in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

You will be able to follow live text updates and radio commentary of that match on the BBC Sport website.

For now though, Tuesday's opening matches are only 45 minutes from kick-off, while Arsenal and Manchester United are both in action from 20:00 BST.

So stick with the BBC Sport website for those.

Here's a reminder of tonight's Champions League matches:

Sabah FK v Slavia Prague (17:45)

Atletico Madrid v Man Utd

Inter Milan v Club Brugge

RB Leipzig v PSV Eindhoven

The future of every team is in their youth. Unfortunately, most teams these days want to compete immediately and leave the base of the team undeveloped. It's a blessing in disguise for Iraola to [get the chance to] use the younger team of Liverpool often to build stamina and confidence going forward.

That's it from Andoni Iraola, who is now off to hold an open training session with his Liverpool team in Austria before Wednesday's game in Linz against LASK.

Defender Milos Kerkez has also been speaking about Bradley Barcola, here is what he had to say in full:

"He arrived, played a few games, needs a bit more time, so does everyone who arrives at a club like this.

"Yeah he's a real talent, he has great skills, he can help us a lot scoring goals going forward, you know.

"It's just the thing is, we should talk more and build that connection more that's going to help us get better combinations down the line, I think we are on a good way and I hope it will get better.

"You have to help new players off the pitch and just in general get to know him better and talk outside of the pitch, obviously on the pitch we have to communicate a lot."

Andoni Iraola on freshness and not being able to fit in too many training sessions: "We don't have a lot of time to train, we have to prepare with some videos, tactics and the ball outside a little, but we have to prioritise the freshness of the players.

"And especially playing four games in 10 days, we want to keep the legs in the game, but I think in cases like Bradley [Barcola] especially, the last one to arrive, the more he plays, the more connections with those around him and the better he'll become, yes."

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola on whether other players will step up in the absence of Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai, following Sunday's 3-0 defeat at home to Manchester City:

"We will see. It's a matter of us because we lost at the end, we are now trying to find why. But I think I liked the team a lot the other day. Not when we were with 10. You should play much better at 10, but before that I liked the spirit, work-rate, attitude. I liked the offensive players, yes."

On changing the team for the Champions League: "It is a game that we want to win and we want to start this competition, we have the first win and we want the second one.

"It is always difficult to win in this competition because there are some niggles, so it will be hard to have the same starting 11 as last time."

More from Andoni Iraola on Liverpool forwards Bradley Barcola and Florian Wirtz: "Responsibilities are the same [as other senior players in the squad]. The performances are exactly the same. Sometimes we have to focus not just on the numbers.

"I was happy with a lot of things the other day with Bradley. We had good situations, we didn't finish them. But him and Florian are players I trust 100%."
