Family event scheduled for May 9 to mark reopening of Frederiksted Pool
Government House announced on May 7, 2025, that a Family Fun Day would be held on May 9, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. to mark the reopening of the Vincent Mason Coral Resort, commonly known as the Frederiksted Pool, on St. Croix.
According to the announcement, the pool would be open for swimming during the event. Planned activities included live music, bounce houses, carnival games, a petting zoo, a fire truck demonstration and giveaways.
The announcement said children would receive free hamburgers and hot dogs, along with cotton candy, popcorn and candy apples while supplies lasted. Food trucks were also expected to sell food and drinks.
Government House said the event was being supported by several agencies and private partners, including the Virgin Islands Police Department, the Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency, the Department of Sports, Parks and Recreation, the Department of Tourism, the Department of Health, the Department of Human Services, the Virgin Islands Army National Guard, Island Rides LLC, Farm Education for All, Elsweeta’s House of Sweets, J. Benton Construction LLC, VI Fun Fest and the Frederiksted Economic Development Association Inc.
