The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said it visited the St. Croix Educational Complex on St. Croix on June 17, 2025, to take part in the school’s STEM Summer Program and discuss career paths with middle school students.

WAPA said staff from its communications, line and information technology departments met with 23 students in grades six through eight. The session focused on jobs tied to the territory’s water and power systems and included discussion of how electricity is generated, transmitted and distributed.

According to the authority, students also received an overview of water infrastructure and took part in a hands-on "Leaky Pipe Water Challenge" designed to simulate a pipe repair and emphasize teamwork, communication and problem-solving.

The archived release also identified four WAPA linemen who participated in the visit: Kymani Ross, Evanson Matthew, John Briscoe and Troy Lake.
