Virgin Islands government issued $14.7 million in tax refunds to 5,044 taxpayers

The Virgin Islands government said on September 25, 2024, that it was issuing $14,706,351.17 in tax refund checks to 5,044 taxpayers.

The government said the payments covered tax returns filed with the Bureau of Internal Revenue by March 1, 2023.

The September 25 distribution followed an announcement on September 9, 2024, that the government would pay an additional $27 million in income tax refunds over the following 30 days. It also followed earlier distributions of $5.1 million to 1,260 taxpayers in July 2024 and another $5.1 million to 1,745 taxpayers in August 2024.
