Finance Commissioner Kevin McCurdy served as acting governor during officials’ Washington trip
Finance Commissioner Kevin McCurdy was serving as acting governor as of December 4, 2024, while Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. and Lt. Gov. Tregenza Roach were off-island, according to Government House.
Roach traveled to Washington, D.C., to attend the National Lieutenant Governors Association New Elect and Member Meeting. Bryan was also in Washington and was scheduled to return to the Virgin Islands on December 8, 2024.
During their absence, Sen. Marise James was serving as acting lieutenant governor.
Government House said the temporary appointments were made under the Executive Succession Act in Title 3 of the Virgin Islands Code.
