The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said electrical service was restored to all affected customers in the St. Thomas-St. John District by 8 p.m. on November 21, 2024, after an outage caused by a fault on Feeder 13, an underground transmission cable.

WAPA said the interruption began at about 10:15 a.m. and affected several customers. The authority said its crews, working with VI Haugland, located the faulted section of cable, removed the damaged portion and performed a high-voltage termination to restore service.

According to WAPA, the repair was complicated by a waterlogged manhole following heavy rainfall. The authority had initially expected repairs to be completed by 5 p.m.

WAPA said the restoration ended a rotational outage schedule.
