WAPA scheduled temporary Back Street closure on St. Thomas for transformer replacement

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on August 21, 2024, that Back Street on St. Thomas between Nye Gade and Raadet’s Gade would be closed on August 22, 2024, from 8 a.m. to noon.
WAPA said the closure was scheduled to allow crews to replace a damaged transformer following Tropical Storm Ernesto. The authority said motorists were advised to use alternate routes and that traffic control and flaggers would be on site.
