The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on February 4, 2026, that about 1,500 customers on Feeder 7A on St. Thomas remained affected by extended outages, along with another 198 customers elsewhere on the island.

WAPA said a section of Feeder 7A was energized late on February 3, 2026, but continued power surges and system instability caused another interruption shortly after service was restored. The authority said the feeder was then taken offline to protect the electrical system and customer equipment.

The outage began late on February 2, 2026, according to the authority. WAPA said crews had been inspecting reclosers, surveying and clearing lines, isolating sections of the feeder, and troubleshooting repeated faults and trips.

The authority also said some customers on Feeder 8B were being transferred from Feeder 7A to other feeders in an effort to isolate problem areas and reduce further disruptions. WAPA said some customers could experience short, localized outages as the system was rebalanced.

WAPA said crews were continuing restoration work on February 4, 2026, including isolated outages in Frenchman’s Bay, Contant, Bovoni, Langmath and Nazareth.
