Bryan grants administrative leave for Carnival events on St. Thomas, St. John and territorywide

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. announced on April 28, 2025, that non-essential government employees would receive administrative leave for selected events during the 73rd Virgin Islands Carnival.

The leave applied on St. Thomas and St. John from noon to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, for the Food Fair, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2025, for J’ouvert.

Territorywide, non-essential government employees were granted administrative leave from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025, for the Children’s Parade.

In a statement, Bryan said, "Carnival is a cherished tradition that brings our community together, and I encourage everyone to participate in these festivities."
