Ka’Nylah Scatliffe served as honorary governor for a day at Government House
Ka’Nylah Scatliffe, a Charlotte Amalie High School student and senior Girl Scout, served as honorary governor for a day at Government House on March 12, 2026, according to Government House.
Government House said the observance marked Girl Scout Week, National Girl Scouts Day and Women’s History Month.
Scatliffe took part in a mock Government House press briefing, signed a proclamation and joined Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. for a lunch meeting on leadership, service and the role of young women in the territory.
During the mock briefing, Scatliffe said Girl Scouts had prepared girls for more than 100 years to lead “with courage, confidence, and character.” She also thanked Bryan, his staff, troop leaders, volunteers and families for their support of Girl Scouting in the Virgin Islands.
