Smoke condition prompted evacuation of Government House on St. Croix

Government House staff on St. Croix were evacuated on July 5, 2024, after smoke was reported in the building.

VI Fire/EMS was dispatched to investigate. The Government House Executive Security Unit said no fire was found.

All staff members were reported safe and accounted for. Government House offices on St. Croix were closed pending a determination of the cause of the smoke condition and whether the building was safe to occupy.
