WAPA sought voluntary survey on customer water line materials across the territory
The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on November 7, 2025, that it was asking water customers across the territory to complete a voluntary survey on plumbing components and service line materials at their homes or properties.
According to the notice, the survey was intended to help WAPA identify whether service connections included materials such as lead, galvanized metal, copper or plastic. The authority said the information would be used to categorize service connections, identify any potential lead-containing components in homes or businesses, determine how plumbing aligned with regulatory tier criteria, and guide targeted water-quality sampling.
WAPA directed customers to complete the survey online. The archived record preserved only limited text from the notice.
