Resident sales period opened for 120 Bellevue and Calabash Boom homes on St. John
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. announced on July 7, 2025, the start of the resident sales period for the Bellevue and Calabash Boom housing communities on St. John.
The initiative covered 120 residences that would be made available for qualified tenants to purchase, according to Government House. Leaseholders were to receive welcome packets outlining the sales process.
The effort was being carried out through a public-private partnership between the Virgin Islands government and Jackson Development Company, with financial support from Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery and Mitigation funds administered by the Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority and the Office of Disaster Recovery.
Government House said Jackson Development Company had acquired Bellevue and Calabash Boom as part of a broader purchase of three housing complexes in the territory.
Three homeownership specialists based on St. John were assigned to work with residents during the process, with each specialist expected to assist about 40 leaseholders over the following 30 days on financial literacy, mortgage preparation and closing requirements.
Government House also said Jackson Development had begun renovations to the homes before sale.
