WAPA board rescinded prior LPG contract authorization and approved three-month emergency fuel deal
The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority board held an emergency meeting on August 15, 2025, to address fuel supply agreements and contract authorizations.
After an executive session, the board said it rescinded the authorization it had granted at its July 24, 2025 meeting regarding a liquefied petroleum gas contract. The motion passed 4-1.
The board also unanimously authorized WAPA management to enter into a three-month emergency contract to maintain fuel supply.
In a separate vote, the board authorized management to issue a new request for proposals. That motion passed 3-2.
