Official details

According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, an earthquake occurred about 83 miles west of Isla Mona at 5:50 PM AST.

Based on location and magnitude the earthquake was not sufficient to generate a tsunami damaging to Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Some of these areas may experience non-damaging sea level changes.
