The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority’s governing board approved several contract actions and received a report from Chief Executive Officer Karl Knight at a meeting on March 28, 2025.

The board approved an extension of Contract SC-38-19 through Oct. 8, 2025, at no additional cost. According to WAPA, the contract covers disposal of waste materials including poles, wires and insulators in compliance with Environmental Protection Agency regulations.

The board also ratified a six-month extension of agreement MISC-17-24 with Vitol for propane procurement through Aug. 31, 2025. WAPA said the extension would allow the authority to complete a request for proposals for a new long-term propane supply contract.

The release also said the board reviewed organizational changes tied to customer service and operations, including leadership appointments and efforts to fill vacancies.

During executive session, the board discussed personnel and legal matters. No action was taken.
