The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on August 17, 2025, that power restoration was continuing across the territory after Hurricane Erin.

On St. Croix, WAPA said fewer than 4,000 customers remained without service. The authority said crews began work early on August 17 and restored Feeder 7B while continuing work on Feeder 6A. It said remaining isolated outages on St. Croix were being prioritized with support from water personnel clearing power lines.

On St. Thomas and St. John, WAPA said about 14,000 customers remained without electrical service. The authority said restoration work had been delayed earlier on August 17 by hazardous weather conditions, but crews were working on repairs to a critical transmission line. After that work, WAPA said crews would shift to isolated outages caused by damaged power lines and poles.

WAPA said the St. Thomas areas being prioritized for restoration included Bordeaux, Caret Bay, Sorgenfri, Honduras, Contant, Lerkenlund, Dorothea, Altona & Welgunst, Estate Hull, St. Joseph and Rosendahl, Langmath, Mariendahl, Frydenhoj and Nazareth. On St. John, it said Cruz Bay and Enighed Hill were being prioritized.

The August 17 update also urged customers to report isolated outages and to use caution around downed power lines.
