WAPA held Drinking Water Week school events on St. Croix and St. John
The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said it marked Drinking Water Week with educational visits to schools on St. Croix and St. John on May 8 and May 9, 2025.
According to WAPA, its communications staff, engineers and water maintenance crew members visited Jane E. Tuitt Elementary School and John H. Woodson Junior High School on St. Croix on May 8, 2025, and Julius E. Sprauve School on St. John on May 9, 2025.
WAPA said the visits were intended to teach students about the water purification process and water conservation.
In the release, Don Gregoire, interim chief operating officer of water systems, said Drinking Water Week was an opportunity to highlight water infrastructure and the workers who operate it.
