WAPA Announces Extended Hours for Water Voucher Collection

To assist eligible customers in obtaining water vouchers, the Water and Power Authority (WAPA) has announced an extension of office hours at its Sunny Isles branch in St. Croix. From Monday, December 4, to Thursday, December 7, the office will remain open until 6:00 p.m. specifically for voucher collection. Following this period, vouchers will continue to be available during normal business hours until they expire on February 19, 2024.

WAPA encourages customers to verify their eligibility and pre-register for the vouchers online. For those requiring additional support, customer service representatives are readily available to provide assistance.

Eligibility for the $100 vouchers is based on several criteria. These include residing in specified areas, using potable water in the last six months, and maintaining an active account with WAPA. Renters or individuals without an account need to present a lease agreement or complete an affidavit at the location.

Noel Hodge, WAPA’s Chief Operating Officer, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “Extending our office hours for voucher distribution demonstrates our commitment to guaranteeing fair access to vital resources for our customers.”

WAPA has also arranged for direct voucher distribution to certain groups, such as public housing residents and Meals on Wheels recipients, through their respective agencies.

Customers seeking more details are advised to contact WAPA’s customer service directly for comprehensive information.
